Music is an extremely important part of my life. It is a love not like any other. I don't know where I would be without it, except I am pretty sure I wouldn't spend most of my time in western Indiana.
I think that acustcthree is a bigger part of my life than I ever would have wanted to begin with. I always have it to fall back on when the world gets to be a little too much. No matter what happens out there, I know that I can always party with the boys, and everything will be alright again.
My position in the band is one that I am rather proud of. I like to think of myself as the ringmaster in a circus. It is a big responsibility having so much relying on what you do, but I am quite proud to be able to do it. As I look back, there is a great period of time when I was a guitar player in this band, and cared little about singing. This has been my best change. As the band has improved, it has required me to up the level of my commitment to being a solid vocalist. Something I have strived hard to do. Sure, I still play the guitar a good deal, but I have also become more attuned to what being a rhythm guitarist is all about.
Being primary lyricist is also a great task. I love it to death. It's great to be singing about the issues that I, as well as the guys in the band, care about.
