I was always into music as far back as I can remember. I first started playing alto saxophone in 5th grade beginners band. Later on in junior high I moved to the tenor saxophone. Around this time I became interested in guitar as well. I bought a cheap beginner's guitar and amp and taught myself how to play. Like most musicians I love music gear. Even stuff i don't need. I'll look at magazines and think to myself, $49.95 for a two pack of drum triggers....that's a good deal. Stuff like that. I try to keep the band realistic and makes sure that everything behind the scenes runs smoothly.
My earliest influence I can remember was Nirvana. That was when i really started to get really into music. When I started playing jazz in high school I started listening to lots of jazz and found my two main influences: Joshua Redman and John Coltrane. I like how both play what they feel and I think sometimes that's more important than sounding 'pretty' all the time. My other big influence is LeRoi Moore of the Dave Matthews Band.
