Like the rest of the guys music is a major aspect of my life. Making music puts me in a higher place and makes me feel like I can do anything. Playing drums puts me in control of the entire band and that's a good thing because i cant stand not being in control. Although I am a very relaxed person. Some people don't seem to understand how I can be so relaxed and laid back all the time. Trust me I know because they tell me they don't. I mean I get to beat on things for hours at a time, who wouldn't be relaxed after that!
I joined the band in 2002. After that we began to push the envelope on what we were capable of. The music began to come into its own at somewhat of pop/rockish. This was perfect because it allowed me to make my home behind the Frame creating a solid backbone for the others. Being the oldest member of the band I am the wisest not to mention the funniest! To quote a drummer I know, " I play drums and I dig music." That sums me up really well, because I play the drums and I love music. ( you all can see the humor I'm sure) Bottom line, to play in a band like this is a blessing. Regardless of the fighting, bickering, stubbornness, misunderstanding, and improper use of the english language, we really do love each other. At least I do, so the others better too or I QUIT!!!
Seriously now, drumming is my life. I am the person I am today because of my drumming, and my drumming is what it is because of the person that I am. I owe my beginnings to Dave Pruitt who did and still does push me forward in my playing and my life choices. The man truly has a passion for his art. He always told us, "if you wanna play in a big rock band, I can take you there." I already feel like I'm in a big rock band because playing with the guys puts me on top of the world, I wouldn't have it any other way.
To Chad E, Jason, Matt, and Chad L lets keep doin what we do and doin it because we love it. Never lose sight of why we play music!!!
Influences: Billy Ashbaugh (drummer for *Nsync), Mike Palmer (Garth Brooks), Buddy Rich, and Dave Pruitt (percussion instructor and band director)
